Using LawStream Data as a Basis for Word Merge Documents: The Initial Word Document

The image at the left is a copy of a Microsoft Word document. In the case of that document, you can see that it contains much of the normal text you would find in a letter. Along with that, though, there are also variables that refer to data fields in your LawStream data base (e.g., client name, postal code, salutation). Once you have a document like this, you can use it as a basis for letters to be sent to any client/contact in your LawStream data base: just export the data from LawStream, save that exported data, and then select the exported data after you have opened this document in Microsoft Word. The next window in this series includes information on how to use Word's merge dialog box. |
