Using LawStream Data as a Basis for Word Merge Documents: Overview

There are different ways to move data from LawStream, for use by other applications. This set of web pages describes one of those procedures: the creation of a file that can be used by Microsoft Word for merging into letters or other documents that need name and address data from LawStream.

  1. Word: create a letter
  2. Use Word's data merge manager
  3. Use Word's data merge menu
  4. Save Word's data format
  5. What the merge data file looks like
  6. LawStream's documents/variables
  7. Selecting LawStream variables
  8. Word: the completed/merged letter

You may click on any of the numbered items in the list at the left, but you can likely learn more about the process by reviewing them in sequence.

The next window in this series describes the first step: creating a Microsoft Word document that will be able to use data exported from LawStream.
