What the demo does:
The LawStream Classic demo does everything the "real thing" does, except that the demo will expire at the end of September, 2007. You should be able to enter data and produce reports, just as you would do so if you had a full working version of LawStream Classic.
How the demo differs from the "real" LawStream Classic:
The main difference between the demo and the "real" LawStream Classic, is that the demo does not include support and creation of a new data file (although those services are included in the price of your LawStream Classic package), and the demo is based on a version of LawStream Classic that is a few months older than the current version provided to our users. Along with that, you will find that some of the reports in the demo might not be complete, as there is a page-limit on the reports.
To download the demo:
To download the demo, just click on the link at the left (under the word "Download"). ... and PLEASE read the instructions below, while the files are being downloaded from our site to your computer (or after the download is done). Note that you need to download only one of the "download" file-packages accessed from the list at the left: the different formats are provided, in case your computer has special needs or restrictions relating to downoad options.
If you have problems downloading the demo:
Different browsers can recognize download files in different formats; the ".sit.hqx" format of this file can be recognized by most Mac browsers that have the latest version of Stuffit Expander. If you download the OS X version and find that OS 9 starts when you double-click on the ".sit" file icon, don't be alarmed: it likely means your computer has an OS 9 version of the Stuffit Expander program. The ".zip" format is the archive format used by Mac OS X, and it should work on all Tiger-equipped Macs. If your browser doesn't know what to do with the downloaded file, you might see a new page appear with a lot of meaningless text; if that happens, hold the cursor over the download link, and control-click (Mac), so you can then tell your browser to download the link to your disk.
Cost for the demo:
There is no charge for the LawStream Classic demo. You should not pay for our privilege of letting you know about our software.
Important information, to help you get the most out of the LawStream Classic demo package...
- Downloading and printing this pdf document about the demo will make it much easier for you to learn about LawStream
- The demo files are in a compacted self-extracting format. If your browser does not know what to do with the file (either when the download starts, or after the files are downloaded), all you have to do is save the file on your hard disk. After you have saved the file on your hard disk, just double-click on the icon that will appear wherever you save it (the file will be called "LawStream Folder.sit"), to make that file expand into a folder containing all the LawStream demo files.
- The demo package is big. It will be about 17MB when you download it, and almost twice that size by the time you expand it on your computer's hard disk. If you have fast internet access (e.g., cable or DSL), the download shouldn't take more than five minutes or so. If you have slow modem access, you will have a very long wait, for the file to be downloaded.
