Note: the following guidelines on conversion are offered to assist you in exporting your current data, so it will be ready for importing into LawStream. Although the procedures for importing data are available in LawStream, we have found (and you would likely find) that your export files will not match the formats expected by the LawStream import procedures. You will therefore expect to retain PowerSoft Innovations to complete that work for you. Most prospective users are content to have contacts and files (matters) imported into a new LawStream startup data base. Our own time in importing contacts and files has lately been about four to five hours, and we typically charge between $200 and $250 for that work. As you might expect, the actual cost to you will vary, depending on the size and complexity of your data. As you might also expect, the value of getting all those contacts and files into your LawStream data base is worth much more than that cost. If you want other data imported, we can also look after that: the cost of the importing depends mainly on the complexity of your data; in most cases, we can import time records for an additional $200 to $250.
