the SmartWeal logo

read about the SmartWeal logo, to learn more about SmartWeal

(more than a circle with an "S" inside)

PowerSoft Innovations Corporation worked with the marketing and graphics firm of Buddha Belly Communications Design, to develop a logo that reflects the strengths and features of SmartWeal. Dozens of different designs were considered, reviewed and analyzed. Eventually, the selection process resulted in a very few images, leading ultimately to the logo shown at the left. Buddha Belly was chosen for its talents at creating effective, meaningful and simple designs, and the willingness of its consultants and designers to work with us throughout the project, to achieve our goals within the time and financial constraints we had defined.

Those who are familiar with oriental symbolism will recognize the similarity between the SmartWeal logo and the ancient "yin yang" symbol (shown at the right). The yin yang symbol represents completeness and balance in the universe (and a lot more!). Read the paragraphs below, to learn about the SmartWeal logo, and how it can introduce balance and completeness in your business.

We chose a direction. Some yin yang symbols contain an "S-shaped" interior, and others (like the one shown above right) contain a backward "S". We started by setting our direction to show the "S", as the start of "SmartWeal". That "S" could also stand for many other attributes of SmartWeal (e.g., synergy, success), but for now we'll just note that we had simplicity in mind. The "S" still provides the balance in our logo, just as SmartWeal provides balance in your business. That "S" (like SmartWeal) doesn't quite get to the boundaries; instead, it provides substance and indicates the integration of the components of SmartWeal software.

We added depth. Most yin yang symbols are two-dimensional representations, but we decided to go beyond that simplicity and make our logo three-dimensional: our product has depth, so we decided that our logo should also have depth.

The depth gave us perspective. Looking at the SmartWeal logo, you can see that your frame of reference is well above the image itself: if you were looking down at a map, the logo would be to your north-east. The direction isn't all that important: what is important, is that you need to be on top of the work you do, to see what is happening.

The perspective let us see inside and out. Once we saw where we were, and once we could see what was happening in the logo, we could also distinguish the interior of the logo's boundary from its exterior. We want to continue to work hard to improve our users' productivity, so they'll get a better sense of where their work begins and ends.

The "inside and outside view" doesn't confine us, so we made sure the circle had room for growth. The definition of the circle is clear, but there is still plenty of room to add more (whether from your expertise or ours), to go beyond your current circumstances. By changing the basic yin yang symbol to a pair of large arcs, we want you to realize that you can "think outside the circle" when you work with our software, by using your own creativity and expertise to extend its potential.
