Is there a monthly fee for using LawStream Pro?

Our answer:

Annual support and upgrades are available after the first year, for an annual support fee; those upgrades and support for the first year are included in the purchase price. Beware of the apparent saving of products that charge a modest amount each month. A monthly fee of $35, for example, amounts to $420 in a year. If you are planning on using that kind of software for only a year, it might result in a saving, but by the end of the second year you will wonder why you decided to become stuck with a product that continues to cost more money every month.

The support and upgrades for LawStream are optional after the first (free) year: you can continue using LawStream Pro without paying anything extra, although you would no longer have the benefit of the support and upgrades.
